Schema & Entity Optimization

Make your brand a clear, verifiable entity

Answer engines think in entities: companies, people, products and places linked by facts. If those facts about you are missing or inconsistent, they hesitate to name you.

Quick answer

What is entity optimization?

Entity optimization makes sure search engines and AI models recognize your brand as one distinct, well-described thing. It uses JSON-LD schema on your site, sameAs links to official profiles, consistent facts across directories, and listings in knowledge bases like Wikidata, so engines can confirm who you are before recommending you.

Confused engines play it safe

If your company name is shared with another business, your address differs between Google and LinkedIn, and your homepage never states what you sell in plain terms, a model cannot be confident about you.

When an engine is unsure, it names the competitor whose facts line up instead. That is not a ranking problem you can fix with more keywords.

Structured data and entity work give engines a clean, consistent record to rely on.

FAQ

Schema & Entity: common questions

Straight answers. If yours is not here, ask us on a call and we will add it.

Does schema markup help with ChatGPT?

Indirectly, yes. ChatGPT and other models do not read schema the way Google does, but structured data feeds the search indexes and knowledge graphs they draw on. Clear JSON-LD also forces you to state facts precisely on the page, which helps every engine.

What is sameAs and why does it matter?

sameAs is a schema property that lists the official profiles belonging to your organization or a person. It tells engines that your LinkedIn page, Crunchbase entry and website describe the same entity, which removes doubt when names are similar or common.

Do we need a Wikipedia page?

No, and you cannot simply create one about yourself. Wikipedia has strict notability and conflict-of-interest rules. Wikidata has lower barriers and is widely used by search engines. We focus on Wikidata and on earning the independent coverage that real notability needs.

Which schema types matter most for AI answers?

Organization or LocalBusiness comes first, because it defines who you are. After that, Service or Product for what you sell, FAQPage and HowTo for answer content, and Person for authors. The right mix depends on your business model and page types.

Can you add schema to Shopify, Webflow or WordPress?

Yes. We work with theme files, custom code embeds, tag managers and plugins like Yoast or Rank Math where they fit. When a platform outputs poor default schema, we replace it rather than layering duplicates on top.
